In an adventure that defies convention, Henry Moores, a 21-year-old plasterer from Macclesfield, Cheshire, decided to embark on an epic journey on foot to Ibiza simply because flights were outside of his budget.
With the goal of joining Wayne Lineker’s legendary parties on the white island, Henry didn’t let the lack of financial resources discourage him. Instead, he embarked on a daily marathon for two months, a feat that promises to culminate in a meeting with Lineker at his exclusive beach club.
Henry’s determination was so strong that he even reached out to Wayne Lineker through Instagram, promising to start his walk if he received a response. To his surprise, Lineker not only responded but also promised to meet him in Ibiza at the end of his colossal walk.
Henry’s journey, which begins on March 2nd, is not just a personal quest for fun. He has already raised about 20,000 euros for charity by walking 500 miles (approx. 805 km) to Paris in October and November. Now, he plans an even more ambitious walk of 1,200 miles (approx. 1,931 km) through France and mainland Spain to Ibiza.
Henry is confident that he will have “plenty of energy” to enjoy the parties once he reaches his destination on May 2nd. The pressure is high, not only because of the distance, but also because friends and family will be waiting for him at the finish line.
Reflecting on his motivation, Henry explained, “The costs of flights, baggage, accommodation, and parties are now part of the adventure, instead of expenses I would have to pay. I saw this as an opportunity to take a vacation, raise money for charity, and meet Wayne Lineker.”
After a previous meeting with Lineker, which left him impressed with the businessman’s luxurious apartment, Henry is more motivated than ever. “All the tiredness is left behind. For at least one night, I can forget about everything,” he said, eagerly anticipating Lineker’s promise of a free shot, although the details of the party are still to be discussed.
This journey is not only a test of Henry’s determination, but also a testimony of how creativity and audacity can turn financial limitations into an unforgettable adventure towards Ibiza.
