Tom Brady’s recent roast on Netflix is still making waves, particularly due to the inappropriate jokes aimed at his exes, Bridget Moynahan and Gisele Bündchen. Both women have reportedly expressed their displeasure to the former NFL star behind closed doors, as Brady broke a personal promise to Bündchen that was a significant part of their divorce.

According to an insider from Us Weekly, it appears that the 46-year-old athlete crossed a line and disregarded their “no disparaging remarks” agreement. The source added that Bündchen is offended and upset by the comments made at the roast, as she didn’t expect there to be so many remarks about her and her new relationship with jiu-jitsu instructor Joaquim Valente. Given that their divorce is less than two years old, there are likely still unresolved emotions and wounds.

Fortunately, Brady did reach out to apologize to Bündchen, but this may not have improved their co-parenting relationship, which is currently described as only “cordial.” A friend of Brady defended his decision to participate in the roast, highlighting that neither he nor any of the participants knew what would be said about them prior to the broadcast. While the goal of a roast is to target public aspects of one’s life, the timing may have been too soon for Bündchen and Moynahan.

Moynahan, who is the mother of Brady’s eldest son, Jack, 16, shared a cryptic message on her Instagram page the day after the Netflix show. Her followers showed their support in the comments, expressing their disappointment that Brady’s kids and previous romantic relationships were not off-limits. Bündchen likely felt the same protective instinct towards the two children she shares with Brady, son Benjamin, 14, and daughter Vivian, 11. They were in full mama-bear mode!

Hopefully, Brady has learned a valuable lesson that what happens off the field is more important than the spotlight. A promise is a promise, even in the name of comedy.
