Viewers of Sunday Brunch took to social media to express their disappointment with the show’s line-up. Hosted by Tim Lovejoy and Simon Rimmer, the episode featured actor Fehinti Balogun, Emmerdale star Gaynor Faye, comedians Maisie Adam and Stephen Mangan, and writer Mike Bubbins. However, many viewers felt that the guests were not well-known enough and criticized the show for lacking star power. Some even suggested that the show should be scrapped or completely revamped. The hashtag #sundaybrunch, which used to be a source of fun, now reflected the show’s declining popularity. One viewer even asked, “Who are these people?” Despite the backlash, there were some viewers who praised Maisie Adam for her appearance on the show. This is not the first time that viewers have expressed their disappointment with the guest bookings, as similar complaints were made in the previous episode. In that episode, guests included The Zutons, Orbital, actress Jo Hartley, and author Greg Jenner. Comedian Jessica Knappett, who was also present, revealed that she would be celebrating her 40th birthday soon. The show also featured guest chef Martyn Odell, who cooked up a vegan dish and revealed that one of the perks of being an influencer is receiving free underwear. The group also participated in the “Snack Wars” segment, where they tried a “cheese and Weetabix cracker.” Jessica found it too dry, while Jo praised it as an “elite” snack. Sunday Brunch airs on Channel 4 at 9:30am.
