Casemiro Slammed for Costly Mistake in Manchester United Draw
In a shocking turn of events, Manchester United midfielder Casemiro has come under fire for his role in Burnley’s equalising goal during Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Old Trafford. Former United midfielder Owen Hargreaves did not hold back in his criticism, describing Casemiro’s decision to not clear the ball as “unbelievable.”
The incident occurred in the dying minutes of the game when Casemiro attempted to head the ball back to goalkeeper Andre Onana. However, his looping header caused chaos in the box, leading to Onana charging out in an attempt to clear the ball. Unfortunately, he ended up taking out Burnley’s Zeki Amdouni, resulting in a penalty.
Despite this costly mistake, Onana had been performing exceptionally well throughout the match, making several crucial saves to keep the Clarets at bay. Hargreaves acknowledged Onana’s contribution, stating, “He kept them in the game, He made some big saves today.”
Christian Eriksen, on the other hand, expressed his disappointment in his team’s inability to hold onto a lead. This draw marks the fifth time in their last seven games that they have dropped points from a winning position. Eriksen believes there are areas where he can improve his own performance and hopes to contribute more to the team in the future.
