THE REPAIR SHOP STAR REVEALS FAMILY CONNECTION TO CRAFTS

Louise Drover, beloved star of The Repair Shop, recently shared the story of how she entered the world of crafts, and it seems that creativity runs in her family. The talented paper conservator on the BBC One show credited her aunt, an art teacher, for recommending a few colleges in London. It was at Camberwell School of Art where Louise found her true passion for paper conservation. “As soon as I walked into Camberwell School of Art, I knew that was it – this is what I wanted to do,” she explained.

FRIENDSHIP LEADS TO JOB OPPORTUNITY ON THE REPAIR SHOP

When asked about how she landed her role on The Repair Shop, Louise revealed that it was her good friend Lucia Scalisi who recommended her. In turn, Louise recommended Chris Shaw, a skilled bookbinder. It’s a chain of experts that has helped make the show a success.

THE REPAIR SHOP STAR FACES TOUGH CHALLENGE WITH MEDICAL CERTIFICATE

In a previous episode, Louise faced one of the most challenging projects of her career – salvaging a laminated medical certificate. The document had multiple layers of lamination, making it incredibly difficult to remove. Louise carefully peeled apart the layers, being cautious not to damage the front side of the sheet. It was a tedious and delicate process, but after hours of work, Louise was able to restore the certificate to its original condition.

EXPERT’S HARD WORK PAYS OFF

Louise’s dedication paid off as she successfully removed the layers of lamination and found a suitable frame to display the certificate. The guest, Sidra, was amazed by the transformation and grateful for Louise’s expertise.
