In a dramatic turn of events, Kennedy Littledike, a 19-year-old from Idaho, found herself fighting for her life in an almost unbelievable way. On May 22, 2021, while going through an emotionally turbulent moment behind the wheel, Kennedy was involved in a car accident that sent her flying through the air and left her suspended by a broken leg on a power line, anxiously waiting for help for over an hour.

Kennedy, who was only 16 years old at the time of the accident, was returning from a sunset outing with two friends when, overwhelmed by the emotions of a relationship breakup, lost control of the vehicle. “I sharply corrected the steering, went off the road on the right side. The car hit a power pole and we started flipping,” Kennedy told Inside Edition.

The absence of seat belts had almost fatal consequences. Kennedy was the first to be ejected from the vehicle, finding herself hanging on a power line with a fractured leg. “When we were flipping, and I was the first one out, I didn’t fall to the ground. I ended up hanging on the power line by my broken leg.”

The accident resulted in Kennedy losing her leg, but paradoxically, it saved her life. The high-voltage electricity cauterized a ruptured artery, preventing her from bleeding to death. Kennedy and her friends, Nakia Molina and Jacob Rasmussen, suffered serious injuries, but miraculously, they all survived.

After the accident, Kennedy faced a long road to recovery, undergoing 21 surgeries to treat multiple fractures and injuries, including the amputation of her leg. “I don’t know what happened to me in the hospital, but I managed to go from a very bad mental state to an extremely positive one,” said the brave young woman.

Today, Kennedy uses her inspiring story and unwavering sense of humor to build a remarkable presence on social media, sharing her recovery journey and encouraging others to face their own battles with strength and positivity.

“Before my accident, I was struggling with mental health issues, not planning my future because I didn’t believe I would have one. Now, despite being in a much more difficult situation, I am infinitely happier,” reflects Kennedy, a true lesson in resilience and hope.
