Death in Paradise star Ralf Little has recently opened up about his career insecurities as an actor. Despite his success in major roles such as Antony Royle in The Royle Family and Jonny Keogh in Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps, Ralf admits to constantly fearing that each job may be his last. During an interview on the White Wine Question Time podcast with Kate Thornton, Ralf reflected on his privilege as an actor and acknowledged the ups and downs of the industry. He believes that the underlying feeling of insecurity never truly goes away, unless you reach the level of someone like Ryan Gosling. Ralf also highlighted the tough mental challenges that come with being an actor, as they constantly face rejection in their career.

Ralf became a fan favorite during his five seasons on the hit detective show Death in Paradise. However, he recently announced his departure from the show, with EastEnders star Don Gilet set to take over as the next detective. Ralf explained that leaving the show was a decision made in agreement with the BBC and Red Planet, the production company. Although he would have loved to continue for another 20 years, he felt that his character’s story had reached its natural conclusion and deserved a happy ending. Ralf’s interview on the White Wine Question Time podcast is now available for streaming.
