BARGAIN HUNT AUCTIONEER LEFT STUNNED BY TEAM’S SPENDING SPREE

In a surprising twist on beloved BBC daytime show Bargain Hunt, auctioneer James Lewis was left in shock when he discovered the hefty price tag of a team’s purchases. The show, hosted by Natasha Raskin Sharp, introduced two new contestants, Aron and Charlie, as part of the Red Team. With expert Thomas Forrester by their side, the team ventured to Northamptonshire in search of valuable antiques.

However, it quickly became apparent that the Red Team’s knowledge of collectables was lacking. Aron admitted, “We don’t know too much, do we?” But their lack of expertise didn’t deter them from making a surprising purchase. When an amethyst pendant went up for auction, the team shocked everyone by purchasing it for a whopping £180, far surpassing auctioneer James Lewis’s initial estimate of £50.

Despite the high price, Lewis acknowledged the pendant’s positive attributes, stating, “It’s pretty, it’s amethyst, it’s gold, it’s really high carat which is good. There’s lots of positives about it, it’s a genuine traditional antique.” He predicted that the pendant could potentially sell for £75, but was taken aback when it fetched an even higher price.

Unfortunately for the Red Team, their gamble did not pay off. One of their items sold for a mere £75, resulting in a loss of over £100 on that item alone. Their total loss amounted to £130, leaving them disappointed and empty-handed.

In contrast, the Blue Team, consisting of married duo Geoff and Lucille, accompanied by expert Tim Weeks, had a more successful outing. Their selected items were auctioned off, earning them a total profit of £46 and the coveted golden gavel. It was a well-deserved victory for the Blue Team, who proved their expertise in the world of antiques.
