BRITS GO WILD FOR PENGUIN BISCUIT JOKES ON WORLD PENGUIN DAY

In a hilarious celebration of World Penguin Day, McVitie’s has asked Brits to vote for their favorite joke found on the back of their beloved Penguin snacks. These iconic chocolate biscuits, first launched in 1932, have been putting smiles on faces for decades. And it seems that the nation is truly obsessed with these cheesy jokes, as more than 73% of those surveyed admitted to always reading the jokes on their Penguin bars, with a whopping 92% saying that the jokes make them smile.

After polling 2,000 adults, the nation’s ultimate favorite Penguin biscuit joke has been crowned: ‘What was the name of the Emperor Penguin? Julius Freezer.’ This joke had everyone in stitches, proving that Brits have a great sense of humor.

To make the World Penguin Day celebrations even more exciting, the Humboldt penguins at London Zoo’s Penguin Beach joined in on the fun. These adorable creatures were spotted having a brrr-illiant time as zookeepers treated them to their very own comedy show featuring the top 10 Penguin biscuit jokes. The penguins seemed to love the jokes, adding to the joyous atmosphere at the zoo.

But it’s not just about the laughs. Along with the jokes, Brits will also get to learn interesting penguin facts, thanks to the experts at the Zoological Society of London (ZSL). This educational twist adds an extra layer of excitement to the celebrations.

Adam Woolf at McVitie’s expressed his delight, saying, “Penguin biscuits, and their famous one-liner jokes, have been putting a smile on the faces of families for decades. What better way to celebrate them this World Penguin Day than with our proud partners ZSL – who are working across the world to protect animals just like Humboldt penguins.”

Humboldt penguins, native to Peru and Chile, are known for their small stature, growing to be about two feet tall and weighing around 8 pounds. The London Zoo is lucky to have a delightful group of these adorable creatures as part of their family.

So, on this World Penguin Day, let’s all raise a Penguin biscuit and share a laugh with these incredible animals.
