In a scene that resembles an urban nightmare, a van driver was brutally attacked by a group of five men armed with baseball bats in a premeditated assault that left onlookers paralyzed at a traffic light in Bradford.
The violent attack, captured on video, occurred shortly after 10 p.m. on Monday when the victim, a 26-year-old man, was dragged out of his vehicle and struck 25 times by the assailants. One of the attackers was heard shouting, “Break his legs,” while another attempted to stomp on the driver’s head.
Witnesses at the scene, stopped at the red light, watched in horror as the brutal scene unfolded before their eyes. When the light finally turned green, four of the men fled on foot, but one remained, delivering five more blows to the defenseless victim.
West Yorkshire Police confirmed that they are investigating the assault, which they described as a “targeted attack.” Road patrol officers who arrived at the scene found the vehicle with significant damage and the male occupant inside, suffering serious injuries.
“It is understood that the man was assaulted by a group of individuals with baseball bats in an attack believed to have been premeditated,” the police stated. The victim was taken to the hospital with severe injuries to his head, arms, and legs, marking a shocking episode of violence that has shaken the local community.
