Angela, the 66-year-old actress, is set to embark on an exciting journey through time and space. Known for her role as God-fearing Yolande in the long-running soap opera, she first appeared on BBC One in 2003 and continued in the role for five years. After making guest appearances in 2017, she returned to the show permanently last year. Currently, her character is caught up in a distressing storyline involving a sexual assault by Pastor Clayton, the leader of a prayer group. In the upcoming episode on May 7th, she finally confides in her life-partner Patrick about the ordeal. Fans of both sci-fi and soap may remember seeing her as a guest in Doctor Who last year.

Angela’s character in EastEnders, Cherry, is at the center of a major storyline. The show, which recently celebrated its 60th Anniversary, is experiencing a renaissance under show runner Russell T Davies. Davies, who played a crucial role in bringing the show back to screens in 2005 after a 16-year hiatus, has introduced exciting changes, such as casting Ncuti Gatwa as The Doctor and Millie Gibson as Ruby Sunday, a former Coronation Street actress. Ruby made her first appearance in last year’s Christmas special episode titled “The Church on Ruby Road.”

In the show, it was revealed that Cherry is the adoptive daughter of Carla and lives with her elderly grandmother in a spacious flat. However, their lives take a dramatic turn when Carla’s foster baby, Lulubelle, is kidnapped by goblins who plan to consume her on their mothership. Fortunately, The Doctor intervenes and saves the baby. But upon returning to the flat, Ruby mysteriously disappears.

Carla and Cherry were shocked to discover that they had no memory of the girl they had taken in almost two decades ago. It turned out that the mischievous goblins had traveled back in time to prevent her from being found on the church steps. But thanks to the Doctor and his amazing TARDIS, he was able to go back to 2004 and thwart their plans, bringing Ruby back to her rightful home.

Excitement is building as the highly anticipated new series is set to premiere on BBC iPlayer this Saturday at midnight. And to kick things off, viewers will be treated to a thrilling double-bill before the Eurovision Song Contest.

Fans will be delighted to know that Angela will be reprising her role as Cherry in the upcoming season. She will be joined by EastEnders star Anita Dobson, who will play the enigmatic neighbor, Mrs. Flood. It seems that Mrs. Flood may have some insider knowledge about the Doctor, as she broke the fourth wall and asked viewers if they had ever seen a TARDIS before. Could she be more than she appears?

Don’t miss out on the time-traveling adventures and mysteries that await in the new season. Tune in to BBC iPlayer and prepare to be captivated by the Doctor and his companions.
