BBC Top Gear fans were left buzzing with excitement as Richard Hammond, James May, and Jeremy Clarkson reunited, sparking rumors of a new show. The trio, who departed from the BBC program in 2015, went on to star in the popular Amazon TV series The Grand Tour.

After a seven-year run, they recently wrapped up their final Grand Tour special. Jeremy was let go from Top Gear after an alleged altercation with a producer during filming, which resulted in Hammond and May also leaving the show.

Despite their past differences, the three have remained close friends and were spotted enjoying a pint at a pub in the beautiful weather, along with former racing driver and Top Gear host Tiff Needell. Jeremy captured the moment of their friendly conversation in the sunshine and captioned it: “I’m in a time warp.”

Fans couldn’t contain their excitement for a potential TV reunion, with one exclaiming: “Wow, there must be so many incredible stories to share around that table. You guys should definitely do another show together.”

Viewers expressed their admiration for the trio’s friendship, with one stating: “It’s amazing to see these guys not just as colleagues but also as genuine friends.”

Another fan pondered the possibility of a return to Top Gear, suggesting: “Okay, hear me out. The fact that The Grand Tour and Top Gear are ending at the same time might not be a coincidence. Maybe the boys will come back to Top Gear and give it the ending it deserves, with the three of them leading the way. Perhaps we’ll even get a season or two of Top Gear? One can only dream that this is what’s happening. I really don’t want to believe that the next Grand Tour episode will be the last we see of our favorite trio.”

A fourth fan commented: “One final grand tour with Tiff and some other iconic figures from the past would be an incredible way to bid farewell.”

Another enthusiast added: “Yay, Tiff! He’s fantastic. I absolutely love watching the original Top Gear with Tiff.”

Richard Hammond hints at possible return to Top Gear

In a recent interview with The Mirror, Richard Hammond expressed openness to the idea of reuniting with his former Top Gear co-hosts, Jeremy Clarkson and James May. When asked if they would consider returning to the BBC series, Hammond responded with a chuckle, saying, “I don’t know. I have no doubt Top Gear will come back one day. Somebody will pick it up and run with it. It’ll be a different show.”

Hammond also expressed confidence that Top Gear would not stay off the air for long, following the decision by BBC bosses to temporarily rest the show after Andrew ‘Freddie’ Flintoff’s accident. Flintoff, a former cricketer, suffered serious injuries in a crash while filming in December 2022 with co-presenters Paddy McGuinness and Chris Harris.

“We probably know better than most that no matter how many precautions you take, accidents can still happen and things can still go wrong, and they do,” Hammond said, reflecting on his own experiences with life-threatening accidents on the show. He emphasized the importance of being well-prepared to deal with such situations.

Despite the passage of time, Hammond believes that he, Clarkson, and May have maintained their youthful spirit. “I think we’re still the same three we each were when we were about 12,” he revealed.
