In a macabre twist that shocked the San Mateo community, Anand Sujith Henry, a 37-year-old engineer previously employed by Meta, is accused of suffocating, strangling, or poisoning his four-year-old twin children before murdering his 38-year-old wife, Alice Benziger, and subsequently taking his own life. The tragic scene unfolded at their $2.1 million residence, according to police sources.

The couple, along with their children Noah and Neithan, were found dead in their opulent home in San Mateo, an area known for its exclusivity. According to the police, gunshot wounds, a 9mm pistol, and a fully loaded magazine were found next to the couple’s bodies, indicating a murder-suicide scenario.

Sources close to the investigation suggest that the twins were killed using different methods, as they showed no signs of physical trauma, pointing to suffocation or overdose as the causes of death.

Anand Sujith Henry, who also had professional experience at Google, had founded his own AI company, Logits, after leaving Meta in June. The company promised innovations in generative AI models for specific business needs, although its website is currently inaccessible.

Alice Benziger, on the other hand, worked as a data science manager at Zillow, excelling in her professional career.

This case is being treated as a murder-suicide by the San Mateo police, after initial reports incorrectly suggested that the family had died from gas poisoning. The police ruled out this possibility after a welfare check revealed the horrifying scene.

The investigation remains open, with the police seeking to understand the motive behind this desperate act, while the San Mateo community and the victims’ families try to cope with the magnitude of this tragedy.
