Stacey Solomon Reveals Terrifying Pregnancy Experience: “I Was Really Scared”

In a candid interview on Caroline Hirons’ Glad We Had This Chat podcast, Stacey Solomon opened up about the fear she felt when she found out she was pregnant with her first child, Zachary. At just 17 years old, Stacey was in a relationship with her childhood sweetheart, Dean Cox, when she discovered she was expecting.

“I was really scared,” Stacey admitted. “Having to tell my dad was terrifying, but deep down, I knew he would be supportive. I always tell my kids to come to me, no matter what, because I will never disown them. I knew my dad would be the same.”

Despite her fear, Stacey knew she could rely on her parents for guidance. “I was sh***ing myself and scared to tell him,” she confessed. “But I also knew he would never disown me. They helped me explore my options and took me to an abortion clinic. However, they made it clear that the decision was ultimately mine.”

Reflecting on the experience, Stacey acknowledged that she may have resented her parents if they had pressured her to make a specific choice. “Whatever decision I made, I would have blamed them for it,” she admitted. “They knew that, so they left it up to me. They supported me no matter what.”

Stacey vividly remembers her visit to the abortion clinic. “I had to have a scan to determine how far along I was,” she recalled. “They didn’t show me the scan, but I could hear the heartbeat. It was a powerful moment.”

Now, Zachary is a healthy and thriving 16-year-old, and Stacey has gone on to have four more children. She welcomed her second son, Leighton, with her ex-fiancé Aaron Barnham in 2012. Stacey and her husband, Joe Swash, share three children together – Rex, Rose, and Belle. Joe also has a teenage son, Harry, from a previous relationship, making their blended family a total of six children.
