Sophia Bush Slams Engagement Rumors in Paris with Ashlyn Harris
Sophia Bush, known for her role in “One Tree Hill,” took to her Instagram Story to set the record straight about engagement rumors. The 41-year-old actress shut down speculation after sharing PDA-packed photos from her trip to Paris with girlfriend Ashlyn Harris. Fans were quick to assume that the couple had taken their relationship to the next level, but Bush was quick to deny the rumors.
In one photo, Bush can be seen resting her left hand inside Harris’ jacket, prompting some to believe she was hiding a ring. However, in a selfie, the actress flashed a peace sign to reveal her bare ring finger, putting an end to the speculation. “Y’all… I have no ‘news’ for you,” she wrote, addressing the rumors.
Bush went on to explain the couple’s handsy moment, jokingly saying, “Wouldn’t you put your hands all up in her jacket if you could? To be clear, you can’t because boundaries. But I’ll continue to do it for you because I’m just generous like that.” She also expressed her happiness and gratitude for her relationship with Harris, saying, “I just wanna squeeeeeeeeeze her. I get that it’s new for y’all to see me so happy and so embodied. It’s new for me too. How lucky am I?”
This isn’t the first time Bush has opened up about her love for Harris. In an essay for Glamour, she revealed that she didn’t expect to find love again after her divorce from Grant Hughes. However, when she met Harris, everything changed. “I didn’t see it until I saw it,” she wrote. “And I think it’s very easy not to see something that’s been in front of your face for a long time when you’d never looked at it as an option and you had never been looked at as an option.”
Bush and Harris made their red carpet debut at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, wearing coordinating black looks from Harbison. Harris, who filed for divorce from Ali Krieger in October 2023, has faced infidelity accusations since going public with Bush. However, according to court documents, she cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their split. The couple shares two children, 3-year-old daughter Sloane and 1-year-old son Ocean, whom they welcomed through adoption.
