PIERS MORGAN SLAMS STEPHEN COLBERT’S “NON-APOLOGY” TO PRINCESS KATE

In a scathing column for the New York Post, Piers Morgan has called out talk show host Stephen Colbert for his “hypocritical” response to cracking jokes about the Duchess of Cambridge on The Late Show. Morgan labeled Colbert’s message to viewers as a “pathetically disingenuous” attempt to apologize after promoting conspiracy theories about Kate’s whereabouts.

Colbert had stated on his show that he tries to adhere to a certain standard and does not make light of someone else’s tragedy. However, Morgan was not convinced by this statement, pointing out that Colbert deliberately promoted unsubstantiated gossip about Kate in his segment. He argued that making jokes about the royals during a time when both Kate and King Charles III have been diagnosed with cancer is “tastelessly inappropriate at best.”

Morgan also highlighted the personal tragedy that Colbert experienced, losing his father and two brothers in a plane crash when he was just 10 years old. He suggested that Colbert should know better than to make light of other people’s tragedies.

The British journalist concluded his column by criticizing Colbert’s failure to live up to his own self-imposed standard, describing it as “disgusting.” Morgan’s strong words reflect his belief that Colbert’s apology was insincere and insufficient.
