Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) was left horrified when she spotted her abuser, Nathan Curtis (Chris Harper), at Lauren Bolton’s (Cait Fitton) reconstruction. In upcoming scenes, Bethany becomes certain that Nathan is responsible for Lauren’s disappearance and is determined to uncover the truth.
After overhearing a conversation between solicitor Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) and Carla Connor and Nina Lucas (Alison King and Mollie Gallagher), Bethany manages to find her way into the solicitor’s office and locates Lauren’s file. The next day, she questions Craig Tinker (Colson Smith) about Nathan’s alibi, and he accidentally reveals that Nathan was with his girlfriend, who works at a nail bar in town.
Bethany is determined to pin Lauren’s murder on Nathan, pointing out that he was running a tanning shop when he started grooming her. Meanwhile, Sarah Platt’s (Tina O’Brien) concerns about Bethany’s fixation on Nathan continue to grow. She confides in Gary Windass (Mikey North) about her worries.
Things escalate when Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) and Bethany are confronted by a furious Nathan while they are out together. Nathan angrily accuses Bethany of harassing his girlfriend. Following this incident, Sarah, Gary, and David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) gather in the Rovers to discuss Nathan and decide that they need to take action to protect Bethany from him.
On the building site, as Nathan prepares to leave for the day, he is suddenly attacked by a hooded figure and knocked unconscious. The identity of the attacker remains unknown. Bethany tries to figure out who was responsible for the attack, while Shona Platt (Julia Goulding) becomes suspicious of the stains on David’s jeans and doubts his claims of innocence.
