Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt were joined by actor Emmett J Scanlan on BBC Breakfast this morning to discuss the second series of crime-drama show Kin. The conversation quickly turned to Emmett’s appearance, with Charlie asking if his character required a beard. Emmett explained that the beard wasn’t necessary but had grown during the pandemic when nobody was working. He also mentioned his man bun and how the opportunity to film in Ireland allowed him to spend time with his family. Naga complimented Emmett on his beard and expressed surprise at the number of bearded characters in the show. She asked about the beard grooming process, to which Emmett jokingly replied that he was the “ugly one.” He then discussed his character, Jimmy Kinsella, in the Irish crime-drama series.
