MICAH RICHARDS: MAN CITY WILL BEAT ARSENAL TO PREMIER LEAGUE TITLE

In an exclusive interview with The Rest is Football podcast, Micah Richards predicts that Manchester City will come out on top and win the Premier League title, beating Arsenal in the process. Richards, a former City player and club icon, believes that the fixture change has worked in City’s favor. Currently, Arsenal leads City by one point in the table, but City has played one game less than their rivals.

The Gunners are set to face Manchester United this Sunday and Everton on the final day of the season, while City will be away to Fulham and then Tottenham, before hosting West Ham on the final day. Initially, many expected the clash against Tottenham to be the decisive fixture in the title race. However, recent poor form from Spurs has left pundits and fans with little doubt that City will secure an easy victory and lift the trophy.

Richards agrees with this assessment, stating that City has the edge over Spurs. He highlights Tottenham’s vulnerability in defense and suggests that their high line will be easily exploited by City’s attacking prowess. Despite the potential challenge, Richards believes that City will come out on top in the crucial fixture.

The original date for the Tottenham vs Man City match was scheduled for 20 April but was moved to 14 May due to City’s participation in the FA Cup semi-finals. Prior to the original date, Tottenham had been in good form, winning eight of their last 11 fixtures. However, they have since experienced a dip in form, losing four consecutive matches and conceding 13 goals.

While Tottenham has been a difficult opponent for City in recent meetings, City has only won twice in their last six encounters and has only ever won once at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Nevertheless, City’s victory in the FA Cup fourth-round earlier this year gives them confidence heading into the crucial fixture.

Overall, Richards believes that City has the upper hand in the title race and expects both City and Arsenal to win their remaining games. Despite wanting to see some excitement and jeopardy in the race, Richards predicts a comfortable victory for City in the end.
