EastEnders star Maisie Smith and her boyfriend, Max George of The Wanted, first crossed paths on Strictly Come Dancing. They began dating shortly after and have been inseparable ever since. But if that’s our biggest problem, then I’d say we’re doing pretty well!”
While marriage isn’t on the cards for them at the moment, Maisie revealed that they already live like “a little married couple”. She explained, “We’re just really happy with how things are. We have our whole lives ahead of us to make those decisions. We’ve only been together for less than two years, so we’re just taking things as they come.” Maisie is determined not to make a five-year plan because it limits her freedom of choice. “I don’t want to live by a strict structure. I prefer to go with the flow, especially with my job. You can’t plan anything,” she exclaimed. “One moment you’re working, the next you’re not, and then you’re working again. That’s the life of an actor – you never know what’s around the corner.”
So far, Maisie’s approach of taking life as it comes has paid off tremendously. After leaving EastEnders, she was offered a thrilling role as a crime boss’ daughter, allowing her to explore a “malicious” character she had never played before. In addition, Maisie and Max will be collaborating on a musical tour across the UK, which is yet another new experience for her. Max has praised her vocal performances, and Maisie couldn’t be more excited about this opportunity. “This will be our first job together as a couple,” she shared with enthusiasm. “I think we’re going to love it. We already spend every day together, but it’s really exciting to work with your partner.”
