Lorraine Kelly’s Bafta experience got off to a shaky start as she posed on the red carpet for the TV Awards. The 64-year-old daytime TV titan looked sophisticated in an expensive golden gown with button detailing. However, moments before heading to the ceremony, Lorraine needed help getting into her dress. Her daughter Rosie came to the rescue, and in a hilarious video shared on Instagram, Lorraine can be seen lying face-down on the sofa as her loved ones scrambled to fasten her up. Rosie joked that even their adorable pooch, Ruby, wanted to help with the styling. Thankfully, there were no major wardrobe disasters as Lorraine hit the carpet with her pregnant daughter by her side.

During the ceremony, Lorraine was honored for her lengthy services to broadcasting. Succession star Brian Cox presented her with a special award. Lorraine took the opportunity to pay tribute to her husband Steve and their daughter. She also urged those from working-class backgrounds to not “pull up the ladder” and to give others the same opportunities to break into the TV industry. In her speech, Lorraine emphasized the importance of sharing experience and helping others. She expressed her desire for everyone to have the same opportunities that she had, regardless of their background.

Scottish TV host Lorraine Kelly was awarded the Special Award at the Bafta TV Awards. In her acceptance speech, she highlighted the challenges faced by those from working-class backgrounds in breaking into the industry and called for more opportunities outside of London. Lorraine expressed her gratitude to her parents for instilling a strong work ethic in her, as well as her partner and daughter, who is expecting a baby. She thanked the viewers for considering her a friend and for trusting her with their stories. Lorraine, who has been hosting her daytime show for 30 years, was surprised with the award live on air during her show.

Lorraine expressed her excitement about receiving the Bafta Special Award and thanked everyone she has worked with throughout her career. She acknowledged the special people who make daytime TV and expressed her anticipation for the Television Awards in May, where she will be looking for a showstopping outfit to wear.
