Kate Beckinsale’s Emotional Tribute to Stepfather at TV Baftas 2024

In a heartfelt Instagram post, Kate Beckinsale expressed her emotions as her stepfather, Roy Battersby, was honored at the TV Bafta Awards. The ceremony, held at the Royal Festival Hall in London, paid tribute to Battersby, alongside Friends star Matthew Perry and broadcasting legend Michael Parkinson.

Kate also took the opportunity to celebrate Mother’s Day by posting a touching message for her mother, Judy Lowe. Alongside the post, she shared a photo of Judy receiving flowers from Kate, despite it not being Mother’s Day in the UK. Kate expressed her love for her family and her stepfather, writing, “It’s amazing how broken and yet full a heart can feel at the same time. I love you Jude. I love you Lily. I miss you Roy.”

Kate had previously announced Battersby’s passing in January, describing herself as “speechless” and reflecting on her fight to support him. The announcement came shortly after Kate rushed to the hospital from the Golden Globes to be by his side.

In addition to dealing with the loss of her stepfather, Kate has been facing her own health issues. Since March, she has been sharing updates from her hospital stay at Cedars Sinai medical center, though the details of her condition have remained private.

On this Mother’s Day, Kate sent her love to all those who may be struggling for various reasons. She acknowledged the range of emotions that can be felt on this day, including feeling lost, lonely, guilty, angry, sad, left out, jealous, bereaved, or betrayed. Kate’s heartfelt message serves as a reminder to cherish and support our loved ones, especially during difficult times.
