ITV This Morning’s ‘Queen of Clean’, Lynsey Crombie, has opened up about her battle with skin cancer and the impact it has had on her life. In an exclusive interview with OK! Magazine, Lynsey revealed that her diagnosis last year was a “real wake up call” and made her confront her own mortality.

It all started when Lynsey noticed a change in a mole on her knee. Despite her GP’s initial reassurance, she couldn’t shake the feeling that something was wrong. Taking matters into her own hands, she sought a second opinion from a private mole clinic, which led to an “urgent referral”.

However, the wait for further consultation with her doctors was unexpectedly long, leaving Lynsey consumed by worry. Even while on holiday, thoughts of her mole dominated her mind day and night. Eventually, she returned to the private clinic, where two of her moles were excised on the doctor’s advice.

Two weeks later, while in the USA for business, Lynsey received the devastating news that she had invasive melanoma. The shock of the diagnosis left her speechless and in disbelief. Her husband had to call the doctor back to get more information.

Lynsey underwent surgery to remove the cancer cells and has been in recovery ever since. The six-week period following the surgery was challenging for her, as she struggled with limited mobility and constant reminders of her condition. However, she remains determined to stay active and positive.

This experience has made Lynsey appreciate the fragility of life and has given her a new perspective. She hopes that by sharing her story, she can raise awareness about the importance of regular mole checks and prompt medical attention.

No further treatment needed for cancer survivor as she shares her story

In a shocking turn of events, a woman who was diagnosed with cancer has revealed that she no longer requires any further treatment. Thanks to the National Health Service (NHS), she now undergoes regular skin checks to ensure her well-being.

Less than a year after receiving her diagnosis, Lynsey, the brave survivor, opened up about the impact it has had on her life. She shared, “Every four months for the next five years I have a skin check. I want to reach that five-year mark, but at the same time, I don’t want to wish my life away. It’s a real wake-up call, reminding me how precious life truly is.”

Lynsey also discussed the toll her cancer journey has taken on her mental health, admitting, “I’m just not feeling like myself anymore.” Despite the challenges she faces, she has decided to use her experience to raise awareness about the importance of skin health.

As a well-known figure on the popular TV show This Morning, Lynsey urged her followers to be proactive in taking care of their skin. She advised, “Make sure to do regular skin checks, take photographs, and examine yourself. You never know when signs might appear. Also, remember to use sun cream and avoid sunbeds. Perhaps sunbed stores should display more warning signs to increase awareness among people.”
