Ian Wright has expressed his disappointment with Jakub Kiwior’s performance against Bayern Munich’s Leroy Sane during Arsenal’s 2-2 draw in the Champions League quarter-final. Despite Arsenal being the better side overall, they struggled to handle the speed and trickery of the visitors, resulting in both of Bayern’s goals. Kiwior was given the task of dealing with Sane, but failed to do so effectively, leading to his substitution at half-time. Wright criticized Kiwior for being scared of Sane and not knowing whether to press or drop off. Sane had a great game, winning a penalty which led to Bayern’s second goal. Wright expressed his delight in seeing Sane being substituted, as he believed Kingsley Coman lacked the same level of penetration. He praised Sane’s performance on Twitter, highlighting his ability to roll past defenders and beat them on the pitch.
