BBC Beyond Paradise fans were left disappointed as series two of the drama came to a close. Despite Humphrey Goodman (Kris Marshall) and Martha Lloyd (Sally Bretton) preparing for their big day, the couple did not end up getting married. However, some fans speculate that they may leave Shipton Abbott to have their wedding in Saint Marie. One fan expressed their frustration on X, stating, “I will be furious if none of the Death in Paradise team come over for the wedding. #BeyondParadise.” Another fan suggested that they might run away to St Marie and have the wedding there, potentially introducing a new detective. Meanwhile, a third fan proposed having the wedding on the beach with the presence of other beloved characters. However, not all fans were pleased, with one fan feeling betrayed by the lack of a wedding ceremony. They expressed their disappointment, saying, “I wanted to see the wedding, the speeches, first dance, and vows, I feel betrayed, beyond betrayed #BeyondParadise.”
The absence of a wedding left some fans in disbelief. One fan exclaimed, “YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME ?!?!? No wedding,” while another questioned, “No wedding? (Today?) #beyondparadise.” Some fans also expressed their surprise that the series had ended so soon, with one fan commenting, “Can’t believe this is the last episode, needs a longer run #BeyondParadise.”
The future of Martha and Humphrey’s relationship and whether they will eventually tie the knot remains uncertain. However, fans can look forward to another series of Beyond Paradise. Tim Key, executive producer for Red Planet Pictures, expressed his excitement for the show’s return, stating, “The response to series two has been fantastic. So much love goes into the making of the show and we’re delighted that the audience has enjoyed it so much.” He also teased that the upcoming series will continue to explore the characters and the town they live in, promising a mix of emotions and clever puzzles. And of course, there will be a duck.
