In a shocking episode that occurred in Hull, three remorseless predators deceived a woman, making her believe she was getting into a licensed taxi after a night out, only to then gang rape her and demand a £20 payment for the journey. Bakhtullah Safi, Kehan Safi, and Habibullah Ahmadzai now await sentencing in April after being found guilty in a trial that revealed disturbing details of the attack.

The victim, who was returning home after a night out on July 30th of last year, was lured into one of the cars parked on Ferensway, believing it to be a taxi. What followed was a horrible and deeply traumatic nightmare, perpetrated by the trio to satisfy their perverse needs.

During the eight-day trial at Hull Crown Court, it was revealed that 18-year-olds Bakhtullah Safi and Habibullah Ahmadzai were found guilty of rape, while 26-year-old Kehan Safi admitted guilt in a previous hearing. The predators maintained the charade of being a licensed taxi throughout the journey, culminating in the rape of the victim, after which Bakhtullah had the audacity to demand a £20 payment. However, the woman refused to pay and managed to escape to a safe location.

After the guilty verdict, the three men were arrested and await sentencing scheduled for April 2nd. The police investigation, which included extensive analysis of CCTV footage in Hull city center, was crucial in identifying the vehicle and suspects, leading to their arrest and rape charges.

Detective Constable Ashley Webster, responsible for the case, described the actions of Kehan Safi, Bakhtullah Safi, and Habibullah Ahmadzai as those of “sexual predators” who subjected a woman, who just wanted to return home after a night out with friends, to a terribly traumatic experience to satisfy their distorted desires. Webster praised the courage of the victim throughout the investigation and trial, highlighting Humberside police’s commitment to combating violence against women and girls, and encouraged any victim of rape or sexual assault to report such crimes, ensuring that justice will be served.
