Roger Corman, the legendary Hollywood filmmaker behind the horror comedy The Little Shop of Horrors, has passed away at the age of 98. Corman, known as the ‘King of the Bs’, died at his home in Santa Monica, California. His family described him as a generous and open-hearted individual. Corman’s wife and daughters released a statement to Associated Press, stating that he wanted to be remembered simply as a filmmaker.

Corman’s career was marked by his work on low-budget classics such as Little Shop of Horrors in 1960 and Attack of the Crab Monsters in 1957. He not only directed films but also produced and acted in them. Some of his notable appearances include The Silence of the Lambs, Apollo 13, Scream 3, and The Godfather Part II.

Born in Detroit, Michigan on April 5, 1926, Corman initially pursued a career in engineering and served in the US Navy. However, he eventually found his calling in the film industry, joining his brother Gene Corman, who was already a producer.
