Emmerdale’s Ella Forster (Paula Lane) recently visited a care home to see June Phillips, an elderly lady with dementia. June enjoyed looking through a photo album and talking to Ella, who had a special bond with her. During the visit, it was revealed that Ella and June had experienced something traumatic together, which left them both feeling very sad. Although they got through it, Ella kept this secret from her new friend Manpreet (Rebecca Sarker).
Upon returning to the village, Ella tried to avoid talking about June with Manpreet. She simply mentioned that there was a deep love between them and that she wanted to cherish the time she had left with June. However, Ella was devastated to learn of June’s passing. She brought flowers to the care home, only to be told by a care assistant that June had sadly died. Overwhelmed with grief, Ella was asked to leave so that the staff could handle the aftermath.
In a new video, Manpreet approaches Ella at a cafe and tries to offer support. She realizes that Ella is reluctant to share the news of June’s death with Liam (Jonny McPherson). Manpreet assures Ella that she is there for her and willing to help in any way she can. Ella reveals that June’s brother will be taking care of the funeral arrangements and that she intends to deal with her grief alone.
The question remains: why is Ella hiding her true connection to June? Past pictures suggest that Ella and Liam will attend June’s funeral, but things may take a dramatic turn when a funeral attendee, possibly June’s brother, confronts them.
