A Bug is Causing EA App Users to Lose Access to Games

A mysterious bug has struck the EA app, leaving players without access to their games. Despite a simple fix being suggested by EA, some users are still unable to retrieve their games.

This isn’t the first time such an issue has occurred. A few months ago, PlayStation owners experienced a similar bug that wiped out their digital games, leaving them unable to re-download them. This sparked outrage on social media.

Now, the EA app is facing the same problem, with Reddit and the EA community forum flooded with complaints from players who have lost access to many of their games.

EA claims that logging out and logging back in should resolve the issue. However, multiple reports suggest that this solution doesn’t work.

Players began reporting the problem on May 22, when they received an error message stating that games had been removed from their library. Clicking on “View Details” revealed another message stating that the content had been removed for an unspecified reason.

EA tweeted that logging out and logging back in would fix the issue, and suggested clearing the app cache as an alternative solution. However, players are still reporting that they are unable to access their games, even after following these steps.

Alex Gurunlian replied to EA’s tweet with a video showing their missing games, stating that the issue had not been resolved for them. Joey Ange also expressed frustration, saying that the reset did not work and that they were missing games they had paid for.

The cause of the bug is still unclear, with theories suggesting it could be related to the EA servers, downloadable content, or linking Xbox or PlayStation accounts to the app. EA has yet to respond to those who are still unable to retrieve their games or provide an explanation for the issue.

This incident serves as a reminder of the risks of owning digital games, where players do not have full ownership over the games they have paid for.
