In the latest installment of Car SOS, National Geographic viewers are in for a treat as a number of famous faces join hosts Tim Shaw and Fuzz Townshend. One such celebrity is the legendary Sir David Jason, who lent his hand to the car restoration of 44-year-old Adam.

During the restoration of Adam’s Datsun 240k Skyline, it was revealed that he is a massive fan of British comedy. Recognizing the perfect opportunity, Tim wasted no time in reaching out to David Jason. “Now, he knew the show and he absolutely melted in front of me,” Tim revealed. Seizing the moment, Tim proposed the idea of David making a cameo appearance where he would be seen purchasing car parts from Del Boy.

David Jason was more than willing to give it a go, exclaiming, “Yeah, go on, we’ll try it!” Tim couldn’t believe his luck, describing it as a “pinch me” moment. The resulting sketch showcases Tim buying car parts from David, who slips effortlessly into his iconic role as Del Boy.

In addition to the exciting celebrity involvement, viewers also learned about Adam’s health struggles. Diagnosed with Crohn’s disease in 2001, Adam’s challenges were far from over. At the age of 34, he was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia and underwent chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant. While he successfully beat cancer, the treatment took a toll on his kidneys, leading to kidney failure and subsequent heart failure.

After spending weeks in the hospital, Adam received a clean bill of health in 2013. However, recently, he began coughing up blood, which led to the discovery that his adrenal glands were overworking, resulting in dangerously high blood pressure. This, in turn, caused his heart to fail once again, placing him on the heart transplant waiting list.

Despite his ongoing health issues, the Car SOS team rallied together to restore Adam’s vintage car and bring it back to its former glory. Tim Shaw expressed his gratitude for David Jason’s involvement in the special episode, praising the actor’s exceptional talent. “He’s an absolute master in his craft, and it was an honor,” Tim gushed. The impromptu nature of David reprising his iconic role left a lasting impression, with David’s wife even texting Tim afterwards to express her disbelief that he had done something like that for anyone.
