Coronation Street star Simon Gregson is celebrating his new gig with the BBC, revealing that he had a fantastic time on his latest adventure. The beloved actor, known for his role as Steve McDonald on the long-running ITV soap, also made a lasting impression on viewers during his appearance on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, where he finished as the runner-up in 2021.

Simon, who has a strong following of 145,000 Instagram followers, took to social media to share a behind-the-scenes photo from a BBC studio. The picture featured him alongside fellow soap stars Chris Bisson from Emmerdale, Lucy-Jo Hudson from Coronation Street, and Danielle Harold from EastEnders. Simon expressed his excitement in the post, stating, “Had a ball playing out with old chums and catching up with the legend @rosskemptv. Bridge of Lies airs on BBC One and iPlayer at 5:40pm on Saturday.”

In the upcoming episode of the BBC quiz show Bridge of Lies, hosted by Ross Kemp, Simon will be making a special appearance. Contestants on the show must navigate their way across a bridge by distinguishing truth from deception, relying on their knowledge, cunning, and a bit of luck. One wrong move could have serious consequences.

Meanwhile, Simon recently shared his thoughts on what the future holds for his character Steve MacDonald on Coronation Street, following his character’s marriage breakdown with Tracy Barlow. In an interview with Yahoo! News, the 49-year-old actor revealed that he hopes to see Steve dive back into the dating scene as he moves on from his recent breakup.

“I think it would be great if we see Steve having to go down the route of speed dating, online dating,” Simon suggested. However, he also confessed that he wouldn’t mind seeing Steve stay single for a while. “Steve could have a full-on midlife crisis – maybe we could see him losing weight, changing his appearance, going to the gym,” he added. “It could be a lot of fun and also a great excuse for me to make some changes in real life!”
