Former Coronation Street star James Craven has landed a role on an exciting new British thriller called Curfew. The star, known for his role as Aaron Sandford on Corrie, filmed his final scenes in Weatherfield last June. Now, he will be starring alongside Alexandra Burke, Mandip Gill, and Sarah Parish in the upcoming TV show. Curfew is set in a world where men are given a curfew under the fictional ‘Women’s Safety Act’, which requires them to stay home between the hours of 7pm and 7am.

James Craven’s character on Coronation Street was involved in one of the year’s biggest storylines. He portrayed a character named Aaron, who raped a drunk Amy Barlow. The storyline sparked discussion and received praise for shedding light on the prevalent crime of non-consensual acts. Despite the challenging nature of the storyline, James tried to understand his character’s perspective. He explained that Aaron genuinely believed he was innocent and defended himself accordingly. As an actor, James had to find a way to rationalize Aaron’s actions, even though they were morally wrong.

James Craven expressed his satisfaction with the viewers’ reaction to the storyline. Many people reached out to him and the show to show appreciation for addressing the issue of consent. He emphasized the importance of opening up conversations about consent and distinguishing right from wrong. Additionally, he wanted to reassure those who have experienced similar situations that they should not feel okay about it. James stressed that there are options available for those who have been through such experiences and that it is never acceptable for something like this to happen.
