Soap star Brooke Vincent, known for her role as Sophie Webster in Coronation Street, has opened up about her struggles with confidence following her departure from the show in 2019. In a recent episode of ITV reality show Drama Queens, Brooke discussed her anxieties with co-star Lucy Fallon over lunch. Despite Lucy’s reassurance, Brooke admitted that she didn’t feel in control after leaving her family to go on tour for the first time. She revealed that she often appears confident, but deep down, she worries about being judged and whether she can succeed outside of her iconic soap role.

Brooke achieved great success as Sophie Webster, a character she portrayed since the age of 11. Throughout the years, she was involved in gripping storylines, including a dangerous car accident and a tumultuous wedding. However, in 2019, Brooke decided to take a break from the show for maternity leave. She now has two children with her footballer fiancé Kean Bryan. In a previous episode of Drama Queens, Brooke expressed her feelings of guilt as a mother and considered leaving acting altogether to prioritize spending time with her kids.

Mum guilt is a real thing. Should I simply take a 9-5 job close to home and focus solely on being a mom? Honestly, I don’t know what the right answer is.

Currently, Brooke is on tour with soap legends Gaynor Faye and Samantha Giles, portraying the character of Amy in The Syndicate. This production is inspired by the popular BBC One series.
