Bethany Platt is convinced that she knows the person responsible for attacking Nathan Curtis in Coronation Street. Nathan, portrayed by Chris Harper, recently returned to the Cobbles after serving over five years in prison. Introduced in 2016, Nathan quickly caught the attention of teenager Bethany, played by Lucy Fallon. It was later revealed that Nathan was part of a gang that groomed young girls, including Bethany. Despite being sentenced for his crimes, Nathan has been released and is now back in Weatherfield.
During a recent episode, Bethany spotted Nathan at the reconstruction of Lauren Bolton’s last known movements. She voiced her suspicions that he may have been involved in Lauren’s disappearance. Determined to expose Nathan’s connection to Lauren, Bethany questions Craig about his alibi. Craig accidentally reveals that Nathan was with his girlfriend, who works at a nail bar in town. Bethany points out that Nathan was running a tanning salon when he groomed her.
Bethany and Daniel are shocked when they are confronted by Nathan, who accuses Bethany of harassing his girlfriend. Meanwhile, David, Sarah, and Gary discuss Nathan and agree that something needs to be done to protect Bethany from him.
As the storyline progresses, Nathan is attacked by a hooded figure on the building site and collapses unconscious. Bethany ponders over who could be responsible for the attack. Shona questions David about a stain on his jeans and is skeptical of his explanation. However, David maintains his innocence and shows Bethany and Sarah a tracking app on his phone that proves he was at the building site when the attack occurred.
David admits to witnessing the attack but denies being responsible, leaving Bethany convinced that Daniel is the one to blame. Will her suspicions be proven right?
