Clive Owen, star of Our Yorkshire Farm, recently opened up in a heartfelt interview with Christine Lampard, expressing his deep regrets about his relationship with Amanda. In a candid admission, Clive confessed, “I handled it very badly.” Reflecting on the overwhelming changes in their lives, he acknowledged his role in the relationship’s demise, stating, “I made a mess of things. I played a huge part in our relationship ending.”

Discussing the impact of their newfound TV fame, Clive acknowledged the difficult time Amanda is currently facing and felt it was only right to step back. As someone who avoids social media, he explained, “I sort of disappear.” Addressing the rumors surrounding their separation and their family’s future, Clive shared, “One of the things I hear is ‘poor Clive,’ and I feel that isn’t right. We filmed Our Yorkshire Farm, and people loved it. Amanda’s plan was that we don’t own the farm, but this is security.”

Clive candidly admitted to his destructive behavior during their struggles, revealing, “When all this went on, I was ranting and raving and drinking and carrying on. It was taking her away, I think. She was committed, and we were all committed, but it seemed to eat away at me, and I handled it badly and behaved badly towards her. I should have been supportive, and I was the complete opposite.” Expressing his remorse, he added, “I really thought that I needed to say somehow that.”

Christine also asked Clive about the social media backlash Amanda has faced since their split announcement. He expressed his concern for her, stating, “It has been really upsetting, and Amanda is having a really tough time at the moment. I just feel that I can’t sit back and watch all this happen without saying something in her defense.” Acknowledging his own mistakes, Clive described Amanda as a remarkable woman and admitted, “I made a complete mess of it. We got to a point where we couldn’t be together anymore. If I had supported her and looked after her, I am sure things would have been much different.”

When questioned about the strain caused by the show, Clive didn’t shy away from the truth, affirming, “Oh, without a doubt. Once a wedge begins to come between you for whatever reason… we were under pressure, it was crazy. It is crazy, and it makes you look at life not as well as you would in normal circumstances. We got to a point where we couldn’t get along at all, and so we parted. It is very sad, but it is what it is.”
