Will Mellor was playfully taunted by his co-star Ralf Little over the infamous “Strictly curse” recently, as he revealed that it was the first time he had discussed it. Ralf began by teasingly saying, “I believe there’s a thing called the curse of Strictly. Your wife’s not into that!” The tension in the audience was palpable as they eagerly awaited Will’s response.

“My wife was at every rehearsal!” he quickly fired back. Ralf responded by jokingly imitating someone speaking through clenched teeth, saying, “Every time, she was like, ‘Great, great, it’s really going well!'”

Will acknowledged the necessity of creating chemistry and sensuality in order to sell the dances, stating, “I do get it – obviously to sell it and to make the dances work, you’re pretending there’s a real sensuality. There’s got to be chemistry there.” He then turned the question back to Will, asking if he could understand why.

“Oh I get it, I get it – because if you’re two single people and you work with each other six or seven hours a day every day, you’ve got all these emotions….” he confessed. Will and Michelle’s relationship had been believed to be rock solid, as they are celebrating their 25th anniversary this year and have two children together – 20-year-old son Jayden and 16-year-old daughter Renee.

However, during a previous Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps podcast with Ralf, Will had admitted that they had “split up loads of times along the way”, attributing it to the challenges of long-distance relationships. Despite this, they are still happily married since their wedding in 2007, but Ralf couldn’t resist teasing his friend about the curse.

He playfully suggested that even he might feel tempted if he found himself slow-dancing with Will in such close proximity. “I can see with the way that you dance… you pull each other close and you’re face to face that close to each other… you must be thinking, ‘I’ve got to kiss her,'” he mischievously suggested.

In a fiery exchange, Ralf swiftly shut down Will’s claim, responding with a resounding “No you f*****g wouldn’t!” However, he did acknowledge the validity of Will’s point, admitting, “It’s a fair point.”

Amidst the excitement, Ralf entertained the crowd by sharing that he had watched a compilation of Will’s best moments on the show. With a mischievous grin, he revealed, “I swear to you, it’s just a video of him crying every episode – at one point, he looks at the camera and he’s like, [simulates crying] ‘I’m sorry kids, I’m alright’. I’m like, ‘Who are you f***ing talking to?'”

In response, Will explained that he was comforting his daughter, who was hosting a Strictly party at home, over his emotional outbursts. He confessed, “I get very emotional!”

Adding to the excitement, the show’s grand finale featured Ralf and Will recreating some of Will’s iconic Strictly moments. Ralf even donned a dress as they swayed together on stage.
