SHOCKING FOOTAGE: Britain’s Most Unsafe Drivers Caught on Camera

In a series of shocking incidents captured on camera, some of Britain’s most unsafe drivers have been exposed. National Highways has released footage filmed by Warwickshire Police officers on the country’s motorways, revealing drivers typing on laptops and even using their knees to steer.

One particularly alarming clip shows a woman applying make-up while driving in morning traffic on the M40. So engrossed in her mirror, she swerves her car and completely ignores the honking of an HGV cab.

Another video shows a van driver enjoying a McDonald’s meal, with no hands on the wheel. He can be seen munching on fries with one hand, before grabbing a drink with the other. In a dangerous move, he overtakes a lorry as he passes Corley Services on the M6 in Coventry.

But it doesn’t end there. A woman is caught on camera scrolling through messages on her phone while driving on the M40. At one point, she even takes both hands off the wheel and is spotted using a laptop.

These shocking incidents are just a few of the 63 offences detected in National Highways’ Operation Tramline campaign.

National Highways’ head of national road user safety delivery, Matt Staton, expressed concern over these dangerous behaviors. While acknowledging that the majority of drivers are law-abiding, he emphasized the risks involved in using mobile phones or taking their hands off the wheel. The week of action aims to raise awareness and encourage motorists to prioritize safe driving.

Thanks to the Tramline HGVs, police have been able to intervene and prevent potentially serious accidents on the road. Let’s hope these eye-opening videos serve as a wake-up call for all drivers to prioritize safety and keep their focus on the road ahead.
