Travis Kelce has expressed his disagreement with Harrison Butker’s controversial commencement speech. On his “New Heights” podcast, Kelce stated that while he believes Butker is a great person, he disagrees with most of what was said in the speech, except for Butker’s love for his family. Kelce praised his parents for their roles as both homemakers and providers in his childhood home, emphasizing the importance of their presence in his life. He also made it clear that his beliefs and views may differ from those around him, but that’s the beauty of team sports – putting differences aside for a common goal.

During the podcast, Jason Kelce, Travis’ brother and co-host, mentioned that his wife, Kylie Kelce, was frustrated with Butker’s remarks at the Benedictine College commencement. Jason jokingly shared that he told her to “go back in the kitchen and make [him] a sandwich” while he watched a game. Travis found this amusing but also expressed his disbelief, stating that they were doing well until that moment.

Notably, Butker’s reference to Taylor Swift as his teammate’s girlfriend and quoting her lyrics was not addressed by Travis or Jason. Taylor Swift herself has yet to respond to the speech. Meanwhile, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes broke his silence on the matter, acknowledging that Butker is a good person, although they may not share the same values.

Since delivering the speech on May 15, Butker has remained silent on social media. He joined the Chiefs in 2017 and has played alongside Travis Kelce ever since. In a previous interview, Butker expressed his hopes for Travis and Taylor Swift’s relationship, wishing for them to get married and start a family. Butker is currently married to Isabelle Butker, and they have a daughter and son together.
