The kids are mini comedians. Dad jokes might make you groan, but it turns out that kids certainly know how to get a laugh out of us.
School children across the country have been coming up with their funniest zingers for a competition to find the funniest class.
In honour of the classic comic, the Beano, their Britain’s Funniest Class competition asked UK schoolchildren to offer their best one-liners.
The judges narrowed down the jokes to their favourite ten before letting the public decide which should take the crown.
There were plenty of laughs to go around – we challenge you not to laugh.
Of course, the judges had to pick one winner, and it was the Year 6 class at Northside Primary School in North Finchley who were victorious with their deserving angles joke: ‘What’s the hottest area in the classroom? The corner – because it’s 90 degrees’.
Given the theme of the competition, many of the jokes were linked to Beano so you might need to jog your memory of the classic comic a bit.
The winners! Northside Primary school. Northside Primary School wowed the public, winning 42% of the votes. For their victory, they, along with their teacher, will feature in a Bash Street Kids comic strip made by artist Nigel Parkinson. It’ll mark the first-time real life children will feature in the comic book, alongside their winning joke.
The jokes will feature in a Beano comic. Mike Stirling, director at Beano, said: ‘Britain’s Funniest Class is a celebration of the brilliant benefits of laughter at school, for pupils and teachers alike. ‘Year Six, Northside Primary School found the funniest angle overall and are deservedly now immortalised in Beanotown, but every entry gave us a great laugh. It’s been our most popular Britain’s Funniest Class contest yet, so laughter’s getting louder in schools nationwide.’
