During Thursday’s episode of The One Show on BBC One, host Roman Kemp had to comfort his co-host Alex Jones after she made a hilarious on-air mistake. The pair were joined by I’m A Celebrity star Babatunde Aleshe, who was promoting his new role as a judge on the New Comedy Awards. Alex congratulated him on his new gig but then questioned whether she had actually said the word “comedy” correctly, causing laughter from the guests and crew. Roman quickly comforted Alex and they moved on to discuss Babatunde’s new job.

Alex’s blunder occurred during an unexpected schedule change for The One Show. On Wednesday evening, the show was taken off-air due to BBC News running over until 7.30pm following Rishi Sunak’s general election announcement. This decision left fans frustrated, as they were eagerly awaiting their favorite shows. Many took to social media, including X, to express their disappointment. One person on X commented that they were “fuming” and questioned the whereabouts of #TheChase.

A third person also voiced their anger, stating that their son was “absolutely fuming” that #TheChase had been interrupted for the news.
