Taylor Swift and her fans are being celebrated in Liverpool, UK, as the beloved singer and her record-breaking discography are the new subjects of the Taylor Town Trail.
The musical city is gearing up for the Eras Tour, which will be hitting Liverpool in June for three shows on the 13th, 14th and 15th, with 150,000 Swifties expected to flood into the town before the tour continues to Wales and London.
Ahead of Taylor’s three sold-out shows at Anfield Stadium, the city is transforming into a “themed wonderland” aptly dubbed “Taylor Town” with a sightseeing trail perfect for the influx of fans.
Set up by the same team that delivered Liverpool’s Eurovision festivities last year, Make CIC, Taylor Town promises to be a spectacle of note with 11 art installations at the centre inspired by each of the singer’s Eras.
Locations for the trail include Liverpool ONE, the Royal Albert Dock and the Metquarter and will welcome the star with a staggering Liverpool Loves Taylor banner which has already been installed on the facade of St George’s Hall.
Liverpool City Council and Make CIC have teamed up to bring Taylor Swift’s iconic imagery to life. The collaboration includes a mural inspired by the number 13, a moss-covered grand piano representing her Evermore era, and a Red room dedicated to her 2012 album. Additionally, a giant heart installation will pay tribute to the Lover era. Alongside these art installations, fans can participate in workshops titled Liverpool Loves Taylor (Craft Version). One workshop will collect origami creations from Swifties to create another installation, and concertgoers can transform t-shirts for a Swif-tee moment. Various workshops, including upcycling denim and decorating cupcakes, will be available for fans. The University of Liverpool will host a free Tay Day with symposiums exploring Taylor as a cultural phenomenon. For those new to the area, there will be a Liverpool Loves Taylor information stand at Lime Street Station to assist with any Swiftie and Taylor Town Trail queries.
