STACEY DOOLEY PRAISES KEVIN CLIFTON’S STELLAR PERFORMANCE IN HIT MUSICAL
Strictly Come Dancing star Stacey Dooley took to Instagram to express her admiration for her beau Kevin Clifton’s outstanding performance in the popular musical Everybody’s Talking About Jamie. In a heartfelt post, Dooley commended Clifton’s talent and credited Paul O’Grady as an inspiration for his role.
Dooley attended the show and shared her excitement, saying, “Went to go see Kev last night. [in Jamie the musical]. Kev, you are so v v clever. Smaaaaaaashed it. Embodied the role SO seamlessly. Seems the non-stop research of Lily Savage and endless drag literature paid off. Well done darlin.” She also playfully added, “Also, congrats to me for bringing the peddle pushers back for April 2024.”
Expressing her love for Clifton, Dooley continued, “My god Kevin, you clever, clever star. I love you so much. The BEST. I wanna be a year 11, even though I’m old like 32 (+5).”
The production, which has been captivating audiences at The Liverpool Empire for the past week, has received rave reviews. One fan commented, “He was amazing! Was there last night in Liverpool and it was just the best show.” Another praised Clifton’s singing abilities, stating, “Aah we went last night and Kevin was EPIC as Loco! We didn’t realise how great he was at singing.”
Kevin Clifton, a professional ballroom dancer, is currently portraying Hugo in the musical. The role of Loco Chanela, a drag queen, has been portrayed by various actors in the film version, including John Partridge, Shane Ritchie, and Richard E. Grant.
The late Paul O’Grady, known for his iconic portrayal of the sharp-tongued Lily Savage on television, served as a source of inspiration for Clifton’s role. O’Grady passed away in March 2020 at the age of 67.
Clifton and Dooley’s romance blossomed during their time on the 2018 series of Strictly Come Dancing. They have since become a devoted family, celebrating their daughter Minnie’s first birthday in January.
