Tottenham Set for Major Squad Overhaul This Summer

In a bid to strengthen their squad, Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has hinted at a busy transfer window ahead. The team got off to a promising start this season but suffered a dip in form due to a string of injuries. With their last four Premier League matches resulting in defeats, it has become clear that reinforcements are needed.

One area that has been particularly affected is the attack, with Richarlison’s absence highlighting the need for more firepower. Additionally, the team has struggled without left-backs Destiny Udogie and Ben Davies. Postecoglou has already warned his players that significant changes are on the horizon, and it is expected that players like Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Giovani Lo Celso will be offloaded.

While the Australian coach is satisfied with the progress made so far, he acknowledges that the squad is still far from where it needs to be. Improving both the depth and quality of the starting XI are top priorities for Postecoglou. He recognizes that the team finished eighth last season, but it was a squad in decline, and the departure of their best player further complicated matters. Moreover, Postecoglou aims to implement a new playing style, which requires time and adjustments.

Building a squad of this caliber cannot be achieved in just two transfer windows, according to Postecoglou. However, he believes that the team has made good progress in the transfer market so far. With the likes of Vicario, Van de Ven, Udogie, Pape Sarr, and Brennan Johnson, who are all relatively young and inexperienced in the Premier League, the foundation is being laid. Nevertheless, there is still work to be done in terms of filling the gaps in the starting XI and strengthening the overall squad.

As the summer transfer window approaches, Tottenham fans can expect significant changes as Postecoglou aims to take the team to new heights.
