Little Women, one of the best period dramas on Netflix, is set to leave the streaming platform next week. The 2019 film, based on a novel by Louisa May Alcott, has captured the hearts of fans with its captivating story about the March sisters’ journey into adulthood in the 1860s. Starring Saoirse Ronan, Emma Watson, Florence Pugh, and Eliza Scanlen as the sisters, the film also features Meryl Streep as Aunt March and Timothée Chalamet as Theodore Laurence. This adaptation by Greta Gerwig is the eighth time the beloved book has been made into a movie. However, fans will have to hurry if they want to watch Little Women on Netflix, as it will be removed from the streaming giant on May 24th.

The news of Little Women’s departure has left fans devastated. Many took to social media to express their sadness and disappointment. @esnykatelyn wrote, “Netflix taking Little Women off their app is probably the worst thing to ever happen to me.” @RicBull3 added, “What do you mean Little Women and Wild Child are leaving Netflix?!” Meanwhile, @stilllfolklore expressed their devastation, exclaiming, “THEY’RE TAKING LITTLE WOMEN OFF NETFLIX?????????” Pleas to Netflix to keep the film on their platform flooded in, with @wonnyskalz begging, “Netflix, please keep Little Women on your damn platform,” and @fakeitflowerss stating, “LITTLE WOMEN IS BEING TAKEN OFF NETFLIX, I’M GONNA RIOT.”

Critics hailed Little Women as “near perfect” upon its release.

Fans were left disappointed as the beloved period drama, Little Women, was removed from Netflix. However, director Greta’s modern take on the movie has received praise for its ability to stay true to the 19th-century era while adding a refreshing twist. TIME magazine commended Gerwig for her respectful and invigorating adaptation, stating that she leads by example and creates a film that is both complex and enjoyable to watch.

The Washington Post also praised the film, considering it to be nearly perfect. Empire Magazine applauded the decision to focus on the narratives of grown women with real-world concerns, while The Wrap described the film as a stunning interpretation. With excellent performances from the talented ensemble and meticulous choices in scoring, art direction, costuming, and editing, Greta’s adaptation has received widespread acclaim.

It is worth noting that before Greta’s version, the 1994 adaptation of Little Women featured stars such as Winona Ryder, Christian Bale, Kirsten Dunst, and Susan Sarandon. If you have a celebrity story, video, or pictures, feel free to get in touch with us.
