Nadia Sawalha, from Loose Women, shocked viewers with a surprising revelation about her childhood on the latest episode of the show. The discussion was centered around an ice cream man who is facing prosecution for playing his distinctive chime too often, when Nadia decided to share her secret.

Whenever she hears an ice cream van in her area, Nadia admitted, “I just say to ice cream vans when they’re in my area, ‘Can you turn it up?’ Because I go out and I can’t find them. And you known when you run and you think it’s to the right? Whack it right up for me,” she exclaimed.

Nadia then explained the reason behind her search for ice cream vans, revealing, “I had a whole childhood where my mum told me that every tenth ice cream from the ice cream van is poisoned. So we went through our whole childhood with no ice cream from the ice cream van.”

Her fellow panellists, Christine Lampard, Frankie Bridges, and Katie Piper, were left astonished by her revelation. Katie even commented, “My mum would be like, ‘There are choc ices in the freezer,’ but this is worse!”

Christine also shared an unusual childhood memory, referring to the red syrup poured over ice cream cones as “monkey blood.” She asked the others if this was a Northern thing, leaving them bemused.

While the panel reminisced about their favorite ice cream memories, viewers took to social media to share their thoughts. One user, @jesterfron96821, expressed their dissatisfaction with the price of 99 ice creams, writing: “Ice Creams are so rip off these days 99s are £3.50 … The guy asked me what size do I want last time, sml med lrg absolute joke.. Gone are the days of a parent buying a round of cones for the kids playing out and dont get me started on a chippy tea #loosewomen.”

Another user, @FlopsyPickle, recalled a unique ice cream van in a park in Watford that served ice cream and lemon sorbet from a regular ice cream machine. They mentioned that they have never seen anyone else do this.

Meanwhile, @khomsi_miriam seemed unfazed by Christine’s comment, stating: “I loved getting a 99er with sprinkles and monkeys blood (the red sweet stuff on top) #LooseWomen.”

However, @coxyhockeychick disagreed with the term “monkey blood,” commenting: “Monkey blood? nope! #loosewomen.”

In other news, the panel also discussed Celine Dion’s upcoming documentary and debated whether it is acceptable to win at any cost following the Fortune Hotel finale.
