Former England striker Michael Owen has revealed his England team for Euro 2024, and it does not include Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka. Gareth Southgate recently announced a provisional squad of 33 players for the tournament, but Owen has made some surprising omissions. Despite the likes of Marcus Rashford, Jordan Henderson, and Raheem Sterling not making the cut, Owen has selected Chelsea’s Cole Palmer and Newcastle’s Anthony Gordon for the wings. Owen hopes that Manchester United’s Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw will be fit for the tournament, despite their recent injury concerns.

Owen believes that England have a strong forward line and can switch up their options throughout the tournament. He has chosen Harry Kane as the main striker but suggests that Southgate could bring in Saka on the right wing and play Palmer on the left. Owen also highlights the need to find a place for Phil Foden in the team. England are considered one of the favorites to win the Euros and will be looking to build on their success in the 2018 World Cup.

England’s Euro campaign is set to begin on June 16 against Serbia, and fans are eagerly anticipating the team’s performance. While some may argue against starting Anthony Gordon, there is a strong case for his inclusion due to his impressive pace. Manager Gareth Southgate is expected to make a few changes to the squad, but overall, the team remains largely unchanged. England’s last major trophy victory in the men’s game dates back to 1966, and the nation is hopeful that this year’s Euros will bring them closer to glory.
