MICHAEL FLATLEY: LEGENDARY DANCER OPENS UP ABOUT RETIREMENT AND UPCOMING PROJECTS

Michael Flatley, the iconic Lord Of The Dance, recently revealed that health issues forced him to retire from performing in 2016. Despite stepping away from the stage, the 58-year-old Irish dancer admitted that he still misses the thrill of performing. In an exclusive interview, Flatley shared, “If it wasn’t for my back and my neck and my legs, I’d still be out there. But my body couldn’t take the damage anymore.” He fondly reminisced about the adrenaline rush of stepping onto the stage in front of thousands of fans, describing it as an “unbelievable feeling.”

Although he may no longer be dancing, Flatley remains heavily involved in the production of his shows. He is currently working on a new Christmas dance spectacular, set to be released this year. Flatley expressed his excitement, saying, “I finished creating it 10 years ago, but it’s only last year and this year that I put the final touches on it and gave it to the dance troops.” The demand for his shows is so high that he will have two dance troupes on the road by the end of September, and three by Christmas.

In addition to his dance projects, Flatley has recently launched his own Irish whiskey, dedicated to his late father. The dancer revealed that he has been busy promoting the whiskey, attending meet and greets, and doing press for the brand. Furthermore, he teased the release of a new documentary about his life, set to come out later this year. Flatley expressed his hopes for the documentary, stating, “Although I haven’t seen it, I’m hoping and praying it’s good.” He also mentioned that he has been approached for more movie opportunities following the success of his film Blackbird in 2020.

Despite his retirement from performing, Michael Flatley shows no signs of slowing down. With a new Christmas show, a documentary, and potential movie projects on the horizon, the legendary dancer continues to captivate audiences worldwide. MICHAEL FLATLEY’S JOURNEY TO SUCCESS: A LIFETIME OF STANDING OVATIONS

In a remarkable turn of events, Michael Flatley’s iconic Irish dancing show, Lord of the Dance, almost never came to be. Despite his unwavering belief in his vision, he faced ridicule and doubt from those around him, including his own mother. Little did they know, he was about to make history.

Recalling the early days, Flatley shared, “I told everyone about my grand plans for an Irish dance show, and they laughed in my face. They called me names I had never heard before. Even my own mother, a believer and a supporter, urged me to find a ‘real’ job.” But he refused to give up on his dreams.

Undeterred by the naysayers, Flatley approached promoters with his idea, only to be met with rejection after rejection. “No chance, zero chance. Are you crazy?” they scoffed. But little did they know, Flatley was a force to be reckoned with.

Then, like a thunderbolt from the heavens, Riverdance stormed onto the scene. And Flatley, who had been tirelessly preparing for this moment, was ready. “I felt like a loaded slingshot beside the stage when it came time,” he reminisced. “All those years swinging a sledgehammer on construction sites, dreaming about this opportunity. Finally, my chance had arrived.”

Now, Michael Flatley’s Lord of the Dance: A Spectacular is set to return to UK stages with the highly anticipated A Lifetime Of Standing Ovations Tour. Kicking off in Edinburgh on July 16, the tour will captivate audiences in cities throughout the UK until November 3.
