Matthew Perry’s Death Investigation Continues: Authorities Still Searching for Source of Ketamine

The tragic death of Friends star Matthew Perry at the age of 54 last October is still under investigation. Law enforcement officials are digging into the source of the ketamine found in his system, which ultimately led to his drowning in a hot tub at his Los Angeles home. Despite the case initially being considered closed, authorities are still unsure of where Matthew obtained the drug.

TMZ reports that both local police and the DEA have been actively pursuing this investigation for nearly six months. However, it remains unclear what progress has been made thus far. While some key individuals in Hollywood have been interviewed, their names have not been disclosed. These persons of interest, who have a history of drug use or abuse, may provide valuable information that could lead to the source of the ketamine.

First responders arrived at Matthew’s home following a cardiac arrest call and pronounced him dead at the scene. Initially believed to have drowned, a toxicology report later confirmed the presence of ketamine in his system. It is important to note that the ketamine found in his system was not the same drug used in his ketamine infusion therapy for anxiety and depression.

Authorities are now investigating whether additional ketamine was supplied to Matthew outside of a medical setting. The TV and film industry mourned his loss, with his Friends co-stars Jennifer Aniston, Matt LeBlanc, Courteney Cox, David Schwimmer, and Lisa Kudrow releasing a joint statement expressing their devastation. They emphasized that they were more than just cast mates and considered themselves a family.
