MAN UTD DISAPPOINTED AS DECLAN RICE AND HARRY KANE SLIP THROUGH THEIR FINGERS
The Manchester United squad has been left disappointed after the club’s failure to secure the signings of Declan Rice and Harry Kane last summer, according to reports. Despite being heavily linked with the English duo, United missed out on both players, with Rice joining Arsenal from West Ham and Kane moving to Bayern Munich from Tottenham.
Rice and Kane went on to have exceptional first seasons at their new clubs, with Rice helping Arsenal challenge for the Premier League title and Kane scoring an impressive 44 goals in 45 games for Bayern. United boss Erik ten Hag had pushed for the signing of Kane, but the club’s decision-makers deemed a potential negotiation with Tottenham too difficult and felt that Kane was over-priced.
Instead of securing Kane’s services, Manchester United strengthened their attacking options with the signing of Rasmus Hojlund. However, the Danish striker had a disappointing first season in the Premier League. According to The Athletic, several players at Old Trafford had hoped and expected Kane to arrive last summer.
