Lucas Moura, former Tottenham winger, has urged Manchester United midfielder Casemiro to leave Old Trafford. Casemiro had a difficult season last year, missing the FA Cup final due to injury. The 32-year-old has two years left on his four-year contract with United, but the club’s new co-owners are looking to offload him as part of their transfer strategy overhaul. If United wants a substantial fee for Casemiro, Saudi Arabia seems to be the only viable destination. However, Moura, who played with Casemiro at Sao Paulo and has since returned to the club, is encouraging him to reunite in Brazil.

“It would be a dream,” Moura said. “Casemiro is one of the best midfielders in the world, and he was created here in Cotia too. I’ve already told him, ‘Hey, let’s go back, play a little more here together, recreate that duo!’ I know his situation is difficult, with a contract with Manchester United, but if he wants, we’ll try to find a way here.”

Regardless of Casemiro’s departure, United is expected to be in the market for a new central midfielder. They also need to address the central defense following Raphael Varane’s exit.
